St. Vincent and a stretch of 30 little islands and cays called the Grenadines are where the rich and famous play. Mick Jagger, Tommy Hilfilger and Princess Margaret are among the stars that are villa owners on one of the Grenadine islands called Mustique. Carenage Bay Beach & Golf Club opened on Canouan in 1999 and the Big Point Casino was part of the resort. Later the hotel would change hands and was run by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. Both attempts failed and the resort closed after 3 years. Along came Raffles International Ltd. and the resort opened as Raffles Resort in the early fall of 2004 as one the premier resorts in the entire Caribbean. This resort offers elegance, pampering and privacy like very few places in the islands. Trump Club Privee' Casino for sophisticated European style gaming in magnificent elegance is perched high on the hill, overlooking the coral reef and the islands of the Grenadines. The tokens in slot machines of the casino show the new name of the casino, Trump Club Privee'. Interestingly, they have yet to replace the Big Point Casino chips with Trump chips. The 50 cent generic chips are used on the Blackjack tables and the $5.00 generic chips can only be obtained as match play chips.
